Superior Graphics is owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Gary and Diane Gutshall. Like so many Copper Country and Upper Peninsula residents, Gary and Diane were born "Trolls" (downstaters from below the Mackinac Bridge) but through frequent visits to the Keweenaw came to love God's Country and all it has to offer. So much so, in fact, the couple moved from the Detroit area to Houghton in 1999 to take up permanent residence and open Superior Graphics.

"We're not Trolls anymore, and we're not born Yoopers," says Diane. "But since we're here to stay, winter and all, a friend told us we're 'Troopers.'"

Superior Graphics has grown in leaps and bounds since its inception in 1999 - in fact, it has experienced double digit growth every year (including over 50 percent one year). During the first few years in business, they purchased one embroidery and two screen printing businesses. With those acquisitions, they quickly outgrew their shop in Liminga. In 2006, they proudly opened the doors to their over 6,200 square foot commercial building on Sharon Avenue in Houghton.

Over the years, Superior Graphics has become well-known both for its quality screen printing and embroidery as well as its fast turnaround and exceptional customer service. It is the only Copper Country area screen printing and embroidery shop that can boast an international design award winner - Gary and his team swept the Screen printing and Graphic Imaging Association International Awards in the 3-D category as a production manager for Integrity Concepts in 1998. It also is the only shop in the Upper Peninsula to feature an eight-color press, adding another layer of quality and detail for your screen printing and embroidery design.

The mission of Superior Graphics is to provide the Upper Peninsula with the very best screen printed goods and services, and to further the development of local businesses and organizations through the benefits gained from their efforts.
